Long - Term Nursing Care Facility. Skilled Nursing, Dementia / Alzheimer's Care, and Intermediate Nursing Care available. State owned and operated. Open for U.S. Military Veterans, their spouses, and God Star Patients.

The Louisiana War Veterans' Home is a State licensed health facility managed by the Louisiana Department of Veterans' Affairs. The Jackson facility provides 161 nursing care beds.

Facility is open 24 hour a day.
Office: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm.

The veteran: must be a resident of the State of Louisiana ; must have served on active military duty 90 days or more during a wartime period as defined by the United States Department of Veterans' Affairs, or had 90 consecutive days or more of service that either began or ended during a wartime period. If active military service was of less than 90 days, the veteran must have been discharged as a result of a disability incurred in the line of duty and must have received a discharge under honorable conditions for his or her most recent period of active military service; must undergo a medical examination prior to admission; must agree to pay the full resident care and maintenance fee; income; not have criminal charges pending.
All U.S. Military Veterans serving 90 days or more with honorable discharges, spouses of those veterans, and Gold Star Patients.
