MHC provides healthy, wholesome food to people in need, as well as nutrition and gardening education. They provide services in ways that build community while enhancing the dignity, respect and self-care of all involved.

Food Pantry Program: Their Food Pantry is open 5 days a week to anyone in need. They focus on wholesome, healthy food and stock such items as organic dairy products, soy fods, fresh produce, and locally baked breads. They believe that good nutrition is the foundation of good health; everyone should have access to healthy foods. Patrons may visit the pantry once a week and receive one bag per person in the household which they fill with items they choose. Community Gardening Program: MHC works with patrons and volunteers to raise awareness about the benefits of organic gardening on their health, self-sufficiency, environment, and community. Volunteers plant, tend and harvest garden plots and bring organic produce to the pantry. Over the years their garden crews have nurtured thousands of pounds of produce. Nutrition Education Program: This program empowers people to benefit their own health through knowledge of proper nutrtion. This program consists of in-store demonstrations, a collection of recipes and resources that pantry patrons may take home, a circulating library of book on nutritional topics, and off-site workshops on canning, cooking and general nutrition.
