St. Agnes Day Room is located behind St. Agnes Church, on New Street. It was founded to serve the basic needs of the poor and the homeless in the West Chester area. The Day Room continues to provide hospitality to the needy, especially the elderly, migrants, women and children, in a caring and welcoming environment. Our goals are to strengthen families and assist individuals toward personal growth and greater independence, establish ongoing, therapeutic relationships that strengthen the community, and nurture in our clients a sense of appreciation and a desire to help others. Our services include: free breakfast and lunch, groceries, clothing, diapers, baby formula, assistance and referrals, bilingual outreach services, parenting workshops, and outreach to those unable to come to the Day Room. We work with other agencies to provide on-site substance abuse support, employment counseling and training, homeless case management, and assistance for new immigrant families with children.
