The mission of the Food Bank of the Albemarle is to fight hunger and poverty in northeast North Carolina.

Their emergency food distribution program provides emergency food to agencies and individuals in a 15 county area of northeast North Carolina.  Food is distributed through agencies -- pantries, mobile food pantry, day cares, soup kitchens, senior centers, after school programs, and a weekend backpack program.  Additionally, they are advocates for the hungry and needy and actively provide their agencies tools to help make sure individuals are aware of the supplemental nutrition assistance program (SNAP), formerly food stamps, to help ensure households have the best possible nutrition.
