In certain circumstances provides rent payments, utility payments, mortgage payments, prescriptions, and principle car payments. Assists with burial expenses for indigent veterans. Assistance cannot be used for an extended basis and is generally for emergency, one time needs.

Eligibility:
Serves veterans with discharge for honorable service or under honorable conditions, and must have been on active duty for other than training purposes. Must be a resident of Lake County for at least 90 days. Funeral assistance is only provided for indigent veterans. Client can receive assistance as often as determined by the agency on a case by case basis.

Documents To Bring:
Documentation requirements are extensive and will vary with service sought. They will include at least: DD214 and proof of residency in Lake County for at least 90 days. For burial assistance, must be able to prove need.

I find it unusual that it is more socially acceptable to complain about what you have than it is to ask for what you want.
