Services: Provides immediate assistance to service personnel and families whose lives have been directly affected by Operation Iraqi Freedom and America’s war on terror.
Can provide financial assistance for needs such as:
- Child care
- Car repair
Refers callers to their local post, who then contacts the servicemember or family to see how assistance can be provided locally.
Assists the family in applying for Temporary Financial Assistance if minor children are in the home.
Active duty military and their immediate family OR
Any veteran possessing an up-to-date membership in the American Legion.
No child is considered eligible for Temporary Financial Assistance until a complete investigation is conducted at the post or department level.
A legitimate family need is determined; and all other available assistance resources have been utilized or exhausted.

Services: The HEN program provides financial assistance for housing which may include monthly rental assistance, deposits, and utility assistance. Essential needs assistance includes personal health and hygiene items, cleaning supplies, and bus passes. Assistance cannot be provided through gift cards, vouchers, or certificates.
Eligibility: Must have no minor children in the household for which support is provided, have zero income.

Services: Provides food boxes with a 3-day food supply. Provides hot lunches and personal care items such as soap and shampoo. Provides limited rent assistance of up to $300 when funding is available.
Eligibility: Rent assistance: Must have a 3-day pay or vacate notice.
Food box: Must meet USDA income guidelines; individuals and households can access food boxes 4 times per year and must be 30 days between visits.
