8.Transportation - on a demand/response basis to community facilities/resources. Donation of $1 is requested from seniors; Fares range from $2 - $8 one way for persons under the age of 60.

Services: The Shepherd Center is an ecumencial ministry of churches, synagogues and religious organizations in Rapides Parish We are a ministry of last resort for persons experiencing economic distress We are a multi-purpose, non-profit centere dedicated to helping people who want to help themselves We provide emergency assistance for people in time of crisis through: food pantry; utility assistance; rent assistance; prescription medication; transportation; household furnishings; referrals and advocacy; and spiritual counseling by ministers of participating congregations when appropriate We also provide case management for homeless prevention We accept applications for assistance Monday through Friday, 8AM to 12 noon and 1PM to 4PM.
