Food for Kids: Provides weekend meals in backpacks for 4,995 children in 114 elementary schools. Kids Cafe: Provides after school meals, snacks and nutrition education to 1,100 children in 32 "safe sites". Knoxville Harvest: Rescued 3.0 million pounds of prepared and perishable food from grocers, restaurants and growers. Delivered same day to soup kitchens, saving them $5 million annually in food costs. Mobile Pantry/Rural Route: Delivers 150 truckloads of food and personal care items to outlying agencies with limited resources, saving them hundreds of thousands of dollars in product and operations costs. Cased Food: Agency/Food Partners shop their warehouse for bulk quantities of fresh and/or packaged foods - 5 million meals per year. Abundant Life Kitchen: Provides job training in Culinary Arts for disadvantaged adults. A collaboration with Knox Area Rescue Ministries, this program has graduated 20 students; each with a permanent job and off the homeless and welfare rolls. 95 cents of every dollar donated to SHFBET reaches a person in need. SHFBET programs adhere to a strict non-discrimination policy.

Food is distributed three times per week. clients may obtain food once every two weeks. Clients must provide id but are not made to qualify for foods other than USDA foods.
