Features public access to computers with internet connection, telephone service, and a copy/FAX machine. Hosts a food pantry during open hours and upon request and a clothing bank. Features a laundry station where visitors can reserve a time to do laundry. Coordinates a weekly playgroup for families with young children every Tuesday from 10:00am - 12:00pm. Supports a lending library with sections on pregnancy, childbirth, parenting and wellness, as well as a lending library for children and young adults. Publishes and distributes the Ridge Connections newsletter.Offers periodic classes including parenting and babysitting certification, throughout the year. Organizes a low-cost summer camp for children ages 4-13.Provides limited transportation, by reservation only, from the San Juan Ridge area to the Nevada City/Grass Valley area on the first two Mondays of each month. Distributes emergency rations of firewood to those in need through the generosity of community donations.

Eligibility: Clients should demonstrate an emergency need for emergency food assistance, this requires a letter of need from another social services agency (WIC,DESS, pastor or social worker); services are for the individual and their family only; clients can apply showing proof of income, proof of residency and ID to be put on a waiting list in order to receive food assistance once every 2 months (once every two weeks if homeless, no application if homeless); clients can receive clothing once every two months (once every month if homeless). Services are provided but not limited to: homeless individuals, recent parolees, recovery home residents, house fire/mold victims, pending DESS assistance clients.
