Hunger Task Force operates a food bank that delivers food free of charge to a network of 80 food pantries, soup kitchens and homeless shelters in Milwaukee County. Through donated food, government commodity grants, purchased food and freshly grown produce from their Work Farm, they guarantee a supply that assures breakfast, lunch and dinner for a family based on their household size, culture, diet and religion. In their network, clients can receive food on the day they need it and in the neighborhood where they live. They oversee operations within their network according to the Standards of Excellence, which assure that food is stored properly, distributed responsibly and that individuals are treated with equality, respect and dignity.
