Open Door seeks to aid all the greater Freehold Area residents in need and to encourage them to become self-sufficient. 

Open Door currently provides an emergency food supply once per month to an average of 400 households in the Freehold Area. Bread and produce are available daily. Clients qualify based on income or participation in government assistance programs. Their After School Program provides homework assistance to 3rd, 4th & 5th graders in local schools. They offer scholarships for participants in this program as they graduate from high school. An advocacy and emergency fund program assists with problems of evictions, utility shut-offs and medication needs. They work with other agencies in the area to secure needed services for their clients. Open Door is a service unit of the Salvation Army and an intake agency for NJ Shares energy assistance program.
