Families can receive up to $500 combined assistance for first month rent and security deposit once they have completed the application process and the new rental home has been inspected. Applicants will receive information regarding tenant rights and fair housing practices.

Eligibility: Serves residents of Lake County. Household must have some sort of income or be on some type of rental assitance progam (such as Section 8 etc). Must be a 12 month lease. Assistance is one-time only. Unable to pay for deposits in the City of Mentor.

Services: Rental assistance is provided in the form of financial assistance to household in an immediate housing crisis. Financial assistance up to $1500 for a household, and $1000 for an individual may be available.This assistance can pay for the families first month’s rent, a security deposit and/or back rent due to a property owner in order to secure safe housing for the family affected. Actual payments are dependent upon many factors, including, but not limited to: funds available, circumstance leading to the crisis, past assistance received by the household, amount needed to solve the emergency, etc.

Services: Provides emergency financial assistance to residents of Orrville, North Lawrence, Dalton, Marshallville and Kidron who are temporarily unable to pay for their heat, utilities, or non-narcotic prescription medications (up to $100). Also provides fuel vouchers for transport to necessary medical appointments. Amount of financial assistance determined based on individual situation and needs. Program funds are limited, and dispensed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Eligibility: Residents of Orrville, North Lawrence, Dalton, Marshallville and Kidron whose income is at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines (FPL). Client can only receive utility or heating assistance once per year and gas vouchers three times per year.
