Assists the family in applying for Temporary Financial Assistance if minor children are in the home.
Active duty military and their immediate family OR
Any veteran possessing an up-to-date membership in the American Legion.
No child is considered eligible for Temporary Financial Assistance until a complete investigation is conducted at the post or department level.
A legitimate family need is determined; and all other available assistance resources have been utilized or exhausted.

Services: This fund may be disbursed to indigent veterans and their families or the families of those deceased in the amount not to exceed $800 per applicant per calendar year, not to exceed two years, unless the indigent veteran qualifies for additional funds.
After one year of waiting, the veteran may reapply for further assistance with proof of eligibility. (Exceptions are burial and catastrophic expenses)
