Services: Shelter and Meals: Local congregations provide homelike accommodations within the congregation's facilities and three meals/day to homeless families. Each church houses three to five families (up to 14 individuals) for a week at a time, four times a year, on a rotating schedule. Two volunteers remain at the church overnight with the guests The host or support congregation provides the evening meal, breakfast, and a bag lunch Guests return to the day center in the morning From there, children go to school and adult guests go to work or look for housing Programs at churches are operated by volunteers and overseen by the Director.
Comprehensive Services: Services provided by area human service centers (i.e., Health Department, D.S.S., children and family services, legal aid, education, job training, various counseling, housing, job placement, referral services, after-housing support, child care, etc.)-- whatever the family needs to regain independence.
Day Center: Families are taken to the Day Center each day by the IHN van to work on goals and objectives agreed upon by case manager Shower facilities, telephones, laundry facilities and an address for completing applications are further benefits of the Day Center.
Seasonal Services: May be provided depending upon donations of items by churches and individuals.
NOTES: Attending religious services are not required Our focus is on keeping the family together Post-housing support services are also provided.
