Services: Their mission is to be the : "benevolence arm of the church" in Spartanburg County, providing emergency assistance to the poor and those in crisis situations. Their current ministry offerings are Food, Clothing,Rent/Mortgage,/Utilities,Chaplaincyservices to County prisons, and rehabilitation for "at-risk" juveniles. 1. Their 3200 sq. ft. Outreach Center houses a large food pantry, and provides the Hub location for other forms of emergency assistance. During 2005, the Outreach Center assisted 1,860 families, representing 4,634 individuals at a value of $153,213.67
2. Their 6000 sq. ft. Resale Store, called "The Market Place", is designed to provide equitable and affordable shopping opportunities for the poor. The inventory is fully donated and priced at a low discount. They also have a truck pickup/delivery service for donations and purchases. Revenue over expenses support their other ministries.
3. Their store inventory (clothes, furniture, bedding, housewares, etc., allows us to work with the local Fire authorities to refurnish homes for Fire victims at no cost to the victim.
