Provides emergency financial assistance, holiday assistance, a thrift shop, and supportive visits to low income residents. SERVICES: 1) OUTREACH: Offers emergency help with vouchers for food and items in the thrift shop, rental assistance, utilities, prescriptions (no controlled substances), gas (emergencies ONLY), car insurance and repairs,andsupportive visits to individuals and families at home, nursing homes,and hospitals. Also makes referrals to other agencies as needed. 2) THRIFT SHOP: Provides clothing and household goods at affordable prices.Hours are Tuesday thru Friday from 10AM-3PM and Saturdays from 8AM-2PM.3) JOB READINESS PROGRAM: "Jump Start" is a free job search program. Usually offered in the fall and helps clients to find and keep a job.Participants are provided valuable information on interview skills, resume writing, community resources and how to network.4) DE PAUL DENTAL: Taking applications contact Sister Meg for further information at 301-447-6102.5) HOLIDAY PROGRAMS 2012: Taking applications (by appointment ONLY) for Thanksgiving and Christmas assistance starting 10/1/12. The level of services for families depends upon their needs and on the number of sponsors and resources available.For Thanksgiving, sponsors provide nonperishable food items plus a gift certificate for perishable items. Christmas sponsors can provide a family with either toys and clothing, food, or all three. For Easter sponsors provide nonperishable food items plus a gift certificate for perishable items.APPLICANTS MUST PROVIDE: Photo ID with proof of address;proof of entire household income; Social Security Cards for entire household;proof of all bills; and for Christmas assistance need a wish list from children and sizes of clothing. HOLIDAY DONATIONS: Individuals and families needed to adopt individuals and families in need of holiday assistance.Nonperishable food, gift cards, and monetary donations are also welcomed.6) DONATIONS: Monetary donations as well as gently used clothing, and household goods are needed. Hours: Mon and Fri., 9AM-4PM by appointment ONLY. Thrift shop: Tues-Fri, 10AM-4PM and Sat, 8AM-2PM.
