Services: Delaware County Outreach offers a variety of programs including, take applications for LiHEAP fuel assistance (from October-March), the Delaware County Food pantry, financial assistance, pre-school scholarships, head start, emergency child care program, information and referrals, and weatherization for the home. NEST: This is an incentive program for low income pregnant and post partum women Meets on Wednesdays and Thursdays

VOLUNTEERS: Recruitment and referrals for volunteers
WEATHERIZATION: Weatherproofing of homes to reduce air filtration to dwelling
WIC: WIC is a program that provides nutritious foods such as milk, cheese, eggs, cereal, juice and infant formula at no cost for families with pregnant women or young children They also receive nutrition advice from trained professionals and referrals for health care Many working families participate in WIC Those on Medicaid, or with a gross income less than the guidelines are income eligible.

Services: ASSESSOR Values all real and personal property in the county as a basis for the county board to levy taxes
AUDITOR: Manages county funds.
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS: Responsible for the county policies, county budge, set county tax levy, approve bonds and reports, economic development for the county
CASE MANAGEMENT: Provides services for individuals or families to help them deal with complex circumstances.
CENTRAL POINT OFCOORDINATON: Provides funding for mental health treatment and services for adults with mental illness, chronic mental illness, mental retardation and developmental delay.
COMMUNITY SERVICE: Provides emergency financial assistance for rent, utilities, home mortgage interest payment, food and nonfood items, bus tickets or gas money for people with state papers to get back and forth from the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for medical appointments, one way bus tickets for the homeless to return to their home, or for someone to verify a job or a living arrangement Will to help with rental deposits, late fees or taxes
CONSERVATION DEPARTMENT: Buchanan County Conservation Department offers parks, natural areas, preserves, historic sites, wetlands, and many educational and recreational opportunities
COUNTY ATTORNEY: The attorney and legal advisor for the county who renders legal advice to county and district offices relative to official duties.
DMV: DMV provides commercial and non commercial drivers license's, photo ID's, driving manuals, driving tests, driving records, school permits, and parking permits
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT: Conducts damage assessments and responsible for requesting federal assistance after a disaster. Finds other funding sources other than the government to assist residents with cleanup, repair and relocation when necessary
GENERAL ASSISTANCE: Provides assistance on a temporary basis for a limited period of time It can be used to pay for basic needs that include rent/lot rent; interest on original mortgage; utilities-gas, electric, and water; burial; and food vouchers for clients who are unable to work. Buchanan County prescription information may be obtained here also Can not be on Subsidized Housing
JAIL: Supervision, parole and community-based corrections
JUVENILE COURT SERVICES: Juvenile Court Services has jurisdiction over juveniles who violate criminal laws and who are in need of protection and/or advocacy as a result of abuse, neglect, or abandonment This is accomplished through probation, court, detention, adoption (Superior Court), and support services.
LAW ENFORCEMENT: Sheriff's office
RECORDER: Issues licenses for birth, boating, death, fishing, hunting, marriage and snowmobiles
TREASURER OFFICE: This office does tax collection for the county, issues motor vehicle titles and registrations, driver's license, financial management of county revenues
VETERANS AFFAIRS: Helps wartime veterans and their families of a wartime veteran with rent, utilities and limited medical expenses in times of need
