CLOTHING ASSISTANCE is available the first working day of the month for immediate needs and special consideration for children needing school clothing; vouchers which are redeemed at a Salvation Army Thrift Store, are limited to once every six months
FIRE VICTIM ASSISTANCE occurs after the American Red Cross has met the immediate crisis; partial replacement of destroyed belongings is offered; must provide paperwork showing assistance from American Red Cross
UTILITY ASSISTANCE for MUD (Metropolitan Utilities District) bills year round, for those over 60, disabled (proof of disability is required), and with special needs; must apply at Energy Assistance first; call the utility assistance phone number, listen to message for qualifications, leave name and number, and someone from the Salvation Army will return the call
FAN PROGRAM June 11-September 14 for people 50 and older, or with a documented disability or medical condition stating need for ventilation
ASSISTANCE FOR DEPOLYED MILITARY FAMILIES, or 'Heartland Fund', is available for families in need who have someone in military service who is currently deployed; funds may be used for child care expenses, material assistance, family enrichment programs; they have a list of volunteers who might help with car repairs, home repairs, lawn services, etc.
