Services: Assists veterans who expaeriencing a financial hardship. Helps to meet a variety of unforeseeable emergency needs. Provides food vouchers in emergency situations. In certain circumstances provides rent payments, utility payments, mortgage payments, prescriptions, and principle car payments. Assists with burial expenses for indigent veterans. Assistance cannot be used for an extended basis and is generally for emergency, one time needs.
Hours: M-F: 8:30am-4:30pm
Eligibility: Serves veterans with discharge for honorable service or under honorable conditions, and must have been on active duty for other than training purposes. Must be a resident of Lake County for at least 90 days. Funeral assistance is only provided for indigent veterans. Client can receive assistance as often as determined by the agency on a case by case basis.
Documents To Bring: Documentation requirements are extensive and will vary with service sought. They will include at least: DD214 and proof of residency in Lake County for at least 90 days. For burial assistance, must be able to prove need.

Services: The Department of Public Welfare offers an Emergency Shelter Allowance, ESA, to help a homeless or near homeless family/individual to: stop eviction from your home/apartment or foreclosure of your house; find a long-term place to live; find a short-term place to stay.

Services: Provides temporary financial assistance for those in emergency situations involving: prescriptions, transportation or utilities (gas, electric, and oil only - does not help with water or sewer bills). Will also provide financial assistance for gasoline, car repair and prescriptions. Amount given varies with each case.
Hours: CLOSED Nov. 6, 2012. Regular hours: M-F: 10:00am-4:00pm.
Eligibility: Geauga County residents, but focuses on Chagrin Falls Park residents. For utility assistance must have a disconnection notice. Number of times client can be helped is determined on a case-by-case basis.

Assistance can be for utilities, fuel oil, appliances, or various other temporary needs. Individuals are not guaranteed to receive maximum amount. Funds are very limited, and are not meant to be used for on-going support.
Eligibility: Serves those demonstrating need (low-income or facing financial hardship) residing in Bainbridge Twp. only. Assistance is limited and not guaranteed. Each request is evaluated on an individual basis.

Services: Provides temporary emergency financial aid for help with apartment/house/mobile home lot rent payments and rental deposits, utility bill payments, minor car repairs, minor furnace and appliance repair, and prescriptions. Can also provide $25 Giant Eagle food cards. Payments are generally capped at a maximum of $200, although client is not guaranteed to receive maximum amount. Money goes directly to the creditor, not to the client. Does not provide ongoing assistance. Funds are very limited and subject to availability.

Eligibility: This is a program of last resort - applicants must have exhausted all other sources of help. Serves Adults 18 and older; residents of Chagrin Falls Twp., Chagrin Falls Village and Bainbridge Twp. Only serves these cities - can not make exceptions for anybody outside of these areas. Those from Bainbridge Twp. must first try to receive assistance from Geauga County Job and Family Services or United Way Services of Geauga County. Must have an immediate need and be able to show the ability to make future payments, and otherwise demonstrate how this assistance will resolve the situation.

Under this program, CAPMC aims to improve very low-income Veteran families’ housing stability in Mercer County. CAPMC will provide eligible Veterans and their families with outreach, case management, and assistance in obtaining VA and other benefits, which may include:Health care servicesDaily living servicesPersonal financial planning servicesTransportation servicesFiduciary and payee servicesLegal servicesChild care servicesHousing counseling servicesIn addition, veterans may also be eligible for time-limited payments to third parties (e.g., landlords, utility companies, moving companies, and licensed child care providers) if these payments help them and their families stay in or acquire permanent housing on a sustainable basis.
