Services: Provides families in the North San Juan Ridge area with information and referrals to local resources and support in completing applications for low-cost health programs. Features public access to computers with internet connection, telephone service, and a copy/FAX machine. Hosts a food pantry during open hours and upon request and a clothing bank. Features a laundry station where visitors can reserve a time to do laundry. Coordinates a weekly playgroup for families with young children every Tuesday from 10:00am - 12:00pm. Supports a lending library with sections on pregnancy, childbirth, parenting and wellness, as well as a lending library for children and young adults. Publishes and distributes the Ridge Connections newsletter.Offers periodic classes including parenting and babysitting certification, throughout the year. Organizes a low-cost summer camp for children ages 4-13.Provides limited transportation, by reservation only, from the San Juan Ridge area to the Nevada City/Grass Valley area on the first two Mondays of each month. Distributes emergency rations of firewood to those in need through the generosity of community donations.

Eligibility: Clients should demonstrate an emergency need for emergency food assistance, this requires a letter of need from another social services agency (WIC,DESS, pastor or social worker); services are for the individual and their family only; clients can apply showing proof of income, proof of residency and ID to be put on a waiting list in order to receive food assistance once every 2 months (once every two weeks if homeless, no application if homeless); clients can receive clothing once every two months (once every month if homeless). Services are provided but not limited to: homeless individuals, recent parolees, recovery home residents, house fire/mold victims, pending DESS assistance clients.

Services: Offers social service assistance to low-income qualifying families from three locations in Butte County-- Chico, Paradise, and Oroville. Eligible applicants can receive emergency food baskets, heating fuel assistance, and clothing and diapers for the family or for job interviews, on a case by case basis. Prescription assistance for antibiotics. Paradise location offers rent payment assistance on a case by case basis. Not all services are offered at every location.
Hours: Oroville, Salvation Army Church: Food baskets: Tue, Wed, Thu: 9am-11:45am. Mon: 9am-11:45am for REACH program only.
Eligibility: Applicants for social services must be low income with emergency needs. Requires proof of identification, Social Security or Medi-Cal cards, proof of income, and proof of residence for each member of the household. Eligibility requirements may be different for victims of disaster receiving relief services.

Services: Provides a food closet that distributes canned and boxed food as well as clothing three days a week to individuals and families in need. Fresh produce is available when possible. Donations of food and clothing are accepted at the church office across the street on an ongoing basis.

Eligibility: Residents of Biggs, Live Oak, and Gridley. Must show proof of address in Biggs or Gridley.
