Proof of Kitsap County residency at time of application and 12 consecutive months residency in Washington state. Photo ID such as drivers license, state ID, passport. Proof of registration with the Washington State Job Service Veterans Section obtainable at the WorkSource Center, 1300 Sylvan Way, in east Bremerton (across the street from the Kitsap Library). Those on disability are exempt. If married, marriage certificate, and birth certificate or adoption papers of dependent children. Provides emergency assistance with food, rent and utilities to qualified, indigent veterans and family members. Funding for rental and utility assistance is typically available at the beginning of the month. Sometimes other funding sources allow them to provide assistance all month long. Limited assistance with medical and other miscellaneous services is also available on a emergency need basis. Once a year they can help a veteran with their prescriptions.
