Services: Provides hospitality, service and advocacy to local residents, Hispanic communities and migrant farm workers. SERVICES:1) EMERGENCY PANTRY: Provides emergency 3-day supply of non-perishable food items. Quantity is based on number of household members. Open Mon-Thur 1-4PM. Can be utilized once every 30 days.2) FOOD SHARE: Offers groceries to those in need. Participant pays a shared maintenance fee of $4 the first of the month. Participant receives a bag of groceries worth at least $25. Food distribution is on the last Thur of the month.3) THRIFT SHOP: Offers clothing and household items for a nominal fee. Opens on Tues and Thurs 11AM-2PM.4) HEALTH AND WELLNESS PROGRAMS: Offers hypertension screening, exercise and nutrition classes, and WIC program site.5) WOMEN'S ARTS AND CRAFTS: Group meets once a week.6) FARM WORKER SERVICES: Provides emergency food, clothing and advocacy for farm workers.7) INFORMATION/REFERRAL: Provides each participant with information on food stamps, budgeting, and nutrition. Helps clients identify other service needs and makes appropriate referrals on client's behalf.8) RELATIVES AS PARENTS SUPPORT GROUPS: Provides support for grandparents and other relatives raising children. Group meets monthly.9) FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Assists with eviction prevention and utility assistance. Must provide proof of need and proper identification. Call for information. 10) DONATIONS: Accepts clothing in good condition and ready to wear, non-perishable food items, household goods, appliance and monetary donations are welcomed.

Services: Oversees several home loan/grants and subsidized living programs in Somerset County. SERVICES:1) HOUSING REHABILITATION GRANTS PROGRAM: Offers individual housing rehabilitation grant assistance to single family homeowners. Grants are for repairing major exterior and interior code violations, inadequacies in plumbing and heating or electrical systems. Grant must be repaid if property is sold within five years.2) SPECIAL LOAN PROGRAMS: Offers the following loans to low to moderate income families: a) Indoor Plumbing Program; b) Lead Paint Abatement Program; c) Home and Energy Loan Program; and d) Maryland Housing Rehabilitation Program.3) RENTAL ALLOWANCE PROGRAM AND TO WORK PROGRAM: Rental allowance program is a program for qualified persons. 1-2 persons: $150. 3-4 persons: $175. 5 and up $250. Services: FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Provides an emergency assistance grant to assist with court-ordered evictions and foreclosures, water bills and utility cut-offs (up to $500), and burial assistance (up to $650, limited to recipients of cash public assistance) and may be used only once in a 24-month period. Also available are funds for those who have experienced an official disaster (hurricane, flood, fire). Children 18-21 must be enrolled full-time in school. -

Must contact Worcester County DSS or Worcester Health Department toreceivea referral for free school supplies.5) HOLIDAY ASSISTANCE 2012: Offered to residents of Worcester County only. Accepts referrals from Worcester County DSS, Health Dept, Family Connections, self-referrals and human service agencies. THANKSGIVING MEALS: Provides boxed meals that consist of a turkey, potatoes and canned food. Operates on a first come first serve basis until food lasts. Food is distributed on 11/16/12.CHRISTMAS TOYS: Provides toys for children of families in need. Accepts referrals beginning 12/3/12 until list is full. DONATIONS: Accepts monetary donations that may be allocated to any of the following fundsIN-KIND DONATIONS: Accepts new items to supply the Baby Pantry & Adult Care Pantry.
