Services: Colel Chabad helps those who are too old or disabled to fend for themselves as well as individuals and families in crisis such as widows and orphans, new immigrants in transition and impoverished young couples seeking to establish a basic household Colel Chabad currently maintains seventeen spotless soup kitchens in Israel and two in the former Soviet Union; providing over 3,000 hot, nourishing meals daily. They maintain two elegant wedding halls for poor young couples, children of indigent widows for who the financial challenge of getting married is insurmountable. They provide interest-free loan programs for new immigrants to begin a small business, poor brides requiring help with furnishings and widows with legitimate near-term needs. Colel Chabad alleviates the plight of young widows and orphans, many victims of terrorism in Israel. They distribute over $1 million in vouchers before the Jewish holidays to enable poor families to shop for necessities at regular stores in dignity. In the former Soviet Union, Colel Chabad provides senior clubs, hot lunches, educational programs and social gatherings to ease the loneliness and discomfort of the elderly in addition to programs for children and teens i.e. social clubs, summer camps, celebrations, leadership programs, a network of Jewish schools, and leadership programs.

They provide housing and a full year of community living to transform residents to be able to return to outside work and independent housing. They operate Emmaus House-Harlem at 160 W. 120th Street, Harlem, NY. Their building has room for fourteen men and women who make a year-long commitment to live by the house guidelines.
