Services: Since 1986, they have provided women and children with a hospitable place to receive nutritious food and needed clothing. Since their inception, they have expanded their basic services to include housing, education, an annual Christmas toy giveaway, and most recently, a 3000 square foot community garden. We:
- Alleviate suffering by providing direct social services to the economically disadvantaged and disenfranchised.
- Increase the marketability of their clients by providing skill- building courses.
- Reduce and help break the cycle of poverty by providing a solid value-based education to selected client family cohorts.
- Address the desperate need for affordable housing by owning and operating an apartment complex specifically designated to serve families with very low incomes.
- Beautify the neighborhood and give client families the numerous therapeutic and practical benefits afforded by a community garden.
- Foster nurturing relationships, encourage self-determination, and advocate for change in systems that oppress.
- Refer clients to agencies with whom they network.
