Services: Catholic Charities offers limited emergency assistance for rent, utilities, food, diapers, and other basic needs for individuals and families who are experiencing economic hardship. Emergency Assistance Program personnel can also refer callers to appropriate community agencies that may be able to assist them.
Hours: Mon-Thu, 10:15 am - 5:00 pm.
Eligibility: Limited financial assistance based on an immediate precipitating event. Individuals must reside within the Diocese of Rockford. Assistance has to provide some type of resolution to the emergency, either independently or in collaboration with case management from other social service agencies.

Eligibility: Must be a Marengo Township resident and the qualifying need for Emergency Assistance is determined by the applicant’s ability to prove that a situation exists that could otherwise compromise one's immediate safety, security, health, or well-being.

These services may include: energy assistance, pharmaceutical assistance, housing assistance, resolution of issues with Medicare or social security, apply for Medicare D or resolve issues with Medicare D plan, find assistance for home repairs or other needs that threaten the person's independence, referrals for services such as homemakers, home health aid, counseling, etc. Follow-up is part of service.
Eligibility: Age 60 or older. Eligibility requirements for some benefits are determined by the particular benefit that SeniorAssist may help participants to access.
