Services: Fiancial assistance is by Appointment Only Calls for appointments are taken on Fridays, beginning at 8am, and the appointments are set for the following week at that time.
The Salvation Army will pay up to $100 toward a final notice utility bill, or court eviction notice, if the following requirements are met (no assistance with prescriptions, deposits or first month's rent):
1 North Carolina Identification Card or valid photo ID
2 Social Security Card or tax identification card (needed for ANY adult living in the home)
3 Proof of currently working 30 hours per week, or proof that you are currently receiving social security benefits, unemployment or proof that you have been laid off for the last 6 months.
4 Final notice for utility bill, or Court eviction papers for rental assistance.
The $100 will be paid after the person receiving assistance has met all other obligations toward the payment of the bill (e.g. if the past due amount is $125, $25 must be paid before we will release or $100). To apply for financial assistance, please call for an appointment on Friday mornings between 8am-9am. Appointments will be made at that time for the following week.

Services: Provides assistance for utility bills.
Process requires a current application which includes current Picture ID, Social Security Card, Proof of Income and Expenses for the prior four weeks, written explanation of non-income (as in being under Doctors care, pending Social Security Disability, Workers Comp etc.) Copy of phone bill (to ensure that the funds for the type of assistance they are seeking did not pay a large phone bill). Interview by Director or Assistant Director. Compliance with Guidelines set by our Board of Directors.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Individuals over 70 and older receive food on the third Tuesday of each month, and to all ages on the third Wednesday of each month.
Eligibility: The applicant must be head of the household. They must be a resident of Sampson County and provide proof by way of Picture ID. Other than food, assistance is on a case by case basis; SCC is very strict as to what information is required, and they require proof of expenses and income in order to justify need. The applicant will be provided a written list of guidelines and requirements to use while completing their application. The applicant is then interviewed to determine eligibility.
Documents To Bring: When clients come to the Sampson Crisis Center, they will sign in, asked their need, and then given the appropriate paperwork to complete. Any documentation needed will be photocopied for their files, with the originals returned to the client. Once the file has been completed they will be interviewed by the Director or Assistant Director, depending on availability. All files are confidential.

The goal of the CIP program is to help families stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer. By doing so, this reduces the risk of health and safety problems such as illness, fire or eviction. Benefits may vary based upon the amount needed to alleviate the crisis; however, benefits cannot exceed $600.00 per State fiscal year.

Have at least one U.S. Citizen or a non-citizen who meets certain eligibility criteria
Meet an income test
Be in a heating or cooling related emergency.
