Residents have opportunity to move to transitional shelter. The shortest stay is one day, the longest stay is 24 months. 2) EMERGENCY FOOD PANTRY: Provides food 3 times a year. Formula and baby items are sometimes available. Photo ID and proof of local residence is required. 3) HOLIDAY ASSISTANCE 2011: NO ASSISTANCE FOR 2011. Will be offered for Thanksgiving and Christmas. SERVICES: 1) DINING ROOM (Soup Kitchen): Offers hot mealsto anyone in need onTues, Wed and Thurs, 10:30AM-12PM.2) EMERGENCY FOOD PANTRY: Provides groceries on Tues, Wed, and Thurs, 8:45-11:30AM. Walk-ins must come in by 8:15AM-12PM, on Tue, Wed and Thur. Their names are placedon a lottery list to receive service. 4) HOSPITALITY DAY ROOM FOR THE HOMELESS: Provides a temporary day shelter for homeless men and women. Offersshowers, laundry, breakfast, lunch and one bag of clothes. Guidance counselors are available. Mon-Fri, 8AM-1PM. 5) HOLIDAY ASSISTANCE 2012: THANKSGIVING: Offers food giveaways to those in need. New clients and clients updating their cards that are signing up for food after 10/15/12 may be eligible to receive a chicken only. All other food pantry clients with families ranging from 1 to 3 household members will receive a turkey and families consisting of 4 or more members will receive a turkey. Chickens and Turkeys will be distributed on 11/20 and 11/21/2012. CHRISTMAS: Provides Christmas toy giveaway to families in need.Must be a client of the food pantryand must sign up by 11/1/12 in order to receive assistance. Any client that is signing up at the Salvation Army for Christmas assistance will be asked to decide who they want to receive their gifts from. If they decide to get them from Joseph House then they will notify the Salvation Army of the client's decision 6) DONATIONS: Accepts basic needs and monetary donations all year. 7) SPECIAL PROGRAMS:REPRESENTATIVE PAYEE: Provides assistance to anyone that needs help managing their finances and paying their bills so that they will not fall into a crisis situation. When a client takes any of the education courses she earns "Mommy Bucks" which are accepted at the pregnancy center baby supplies store. The store offers diapers, bottles, clothes and furniture. - - 2) MEDICAL: Offers free pregnancy testing and referrals to free ultra-sounds at neighboring pregnancy centers. - - 3) EDUCATION: Offers prenatal development courses, parenting education and mentors for pregnant women and fathers. - - 4) COUNSELING: Provides relationship counseling, a peer teen pregnancy group and information on adoption options, including referrals.
