Services: OVERVIEW: Provides an emergency shelter for homeless men, women, and families with children. Offers an emergency food pantry and a low cost thrift store to residents in need. Also provides limited financial assistance for homeless prevention and support services for veterans and their families. - - SERVICES: - 1) EMERGENCY SHELTER: Offers a 36 bed emergency shelter for men, women and families. The length of stay varies pending on adherence to shelter rules. - - 2) EMERGENCY FOOD PANTRY: Provides food once a month to Wicomico, Worcester and Somerset County residents (must be a resident for at least 30 days). Formula and baby items are sometimes available. Photo ID and proof of local residence is required, Call Sun-Sat 9AM-5PM. - - 3) THRIFT STORE: Offers clothes, shoes, household items, furniture and linens at a low cost to the public on Wed-Sat from 10AM-4PM. Located at Sunset Shopping Center on Stephen Decatur Highway. - - 4) EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: For individuals and families at risk of being homeless may apply for assistance with security deposit, first month's rent and eviction. Provides limited financial assistance with security deposit, first month's rent and eviction. SERVICES:1) OFFICE OF HOME ENERGY PROGRAMS: Provides MEAP and EUSP grants to eligible families, renters, roomers, boarders and homeowners toward the cost of heating in the winter and electricity year round. Grant is based on the type of fuel used, household size, household income and annual consumption.2) Electrical Universal Service Program (EUSP): Assists with electric utility bill payment. Client is required to have bill in his/her own name and be on a monthly budget billing plan. Must have proper documentation and proof of need which outlines balance owed. A minimum of $250 may be applied towards the bill. Prescription allowance is determined based on funds available. 3) SOUP KITCHEN: Meals are served Sat, 11:15AM-12:15PM.
