Rent must be at least 30 days past due; rent payments and deposits are capped at $200.00. Utilities covered include electric, natural gas, propane, heating oil, water, and sewer. Payments are generally the amount needed to retain or restore service, although if that amount is large, the payment may not cover entire amount. Money goes directly to the creditor, not to the client. This is a program of last resort; clients cannot receive ongoing support from this program.

Eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis. Residents of Orrville must have applied to the Salvation Army for assistance and have been denied.

Services: Provides emergency financial assistance to residents of Orrville, North Lawrence, Dalton, Marshallville and Kidron who are temporarily unable to pay for their heat, utilities, or non-narcotic prescription medications (up to $100). Also provides fuel vouchers for transport to necessary medical appointments. Amount of financial assistance determined based on individual situation and needs. Program funds are limited, and dispensed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Eligibility: Client must live in Chatham Twp., Lafayette Twp., York Twp., Creston, West Salem or be from the following zip codes: 44215, 44217, 44235, 44251, 44253, 44254, 44273 or 44275. Client must have exhausted all other available government assistance programs before receiving service.
