OVERVIEW: Provides hospitality, service and advocacy to local residents, Hispanic communities and migrant farm workers. - - SERVICES: - 1) EMERGENCY PANTRY: Provides emergency 3-day supply of non-perishable food items. Quantity is based on number of household members. Opens Mon-Thurs 1-4PM, clients must be there by 3;30PM. The pantry can be utilized once every 30 days per household. Must provide proof of income, residency, proper ID and social security cards for all household members. Priority is given to Somerset County residents, but will offer to other counties if available. - - 2) FOOD SHARE: Offers groceries to those in need. Donation fee of $4 the first of the month. Participant receives a bag of groceries worth at least $25. Food distribution is on the last Thurs of the month. Intake must be completed by the distribution date. For Somerset County residents only. - - 3) THRIFT SHOP: Offers clothing and household items for a nominal fee. Opens on Tues and Thurs 11AM-2PM. - - 4) CHRISTMAS 2017 CLOSED: The thrift store will be having a holiday sale on Nov 4-6 from 10AM-4PM. The store will feature gift items, decorations, ornaments and clothing items at discounted prices. Open to the public and refreshments will be served. - 5) HEALTH AND WELLNESS PROGRAMS: Offers hypertension screening, exercise and nutrition classes, and WIC program site. - - 6) WOMEN OF WONDER: Offers social interaction and arts and crafts activities. Held on Monday's 1-4PM. - - 7) FARM WORKER SERVICES: Provides emergency food, clothing and advocacy for farm workers. - - 8) INFORMATION/REFERRAL: Provides each participant with information on food stamps, budgeting, and nutrition. Helps clients identify other service needs and makes appropriate referrals on client's behalf. - - 9) FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Offers eviction prevention and utility assistance. Must provide proof of need and proper identification. Somerset County residents are given priority but may offer assistance to other counties if funds are available. - - 10) COUNSELING: Offers individual, family and marital counseling on Tues only. Must call for appointment. - - 11) DONATIONS: Accepts clothing in good condition and ready to wear, non-perishable food items, household goods, appliance and monetary donations are welcomed.

Must provide identification, proof of family size and meet income guidelines. - - 4) PESTICIDE SAFETY PROGRAM: Offers training to farm workers according to the Worker Protection Standard under the Environmental Protection Act. - - 5) ENGLISH IN THE WORKPLACE PROGRAM: Offers preparation to speakers of languages other than English with skills needed to obtain and retain employment. - - 6) FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Provides emergency assistance to farmworkers only with rent, mortgage and utilities when funds are available. - - 7) HOUSING ASSISTANCE: Provides homeownership and credit counseling to farmworkers. - - 8) READING IS FUNDAMENTAL (RIF): Offers a book distribution program to children of farmworkers.
