Services: The Blaine Food Bank provides food on an emergency basis for low-income residents of Blaine, and can be used once a week. Volunteers help to distribute food and to pick up food at the Food Lifeline, the Bellingham Food Bank, and Northwest Harvest in Seattle.
Eligibility: Residents of Blaine, Custer, Birch Bay, Semihamoo. Individuals receiving food from the Food Bank must show proof of residence.

Services: Provides emergency crisis assistance relating to food, utilities, local bus transportation, clothing. Serves Northern Whatcom County residents only. Provides new and used winter jackets through the Coats for Tots program for children in the North Whatcom County public and private schools. Project Hope administers the distribution of Puget Sound Energy Assistance funds to North Whatcom County people who have a shut off notice or service is threatened. They also provide (from their account) emergency funds for: electric, natural gas, propane, kerosene, and firewood when available.
Project Hope provides emergency funds for some basic human needs. Phone first for funding availability. They also freely give out: blankets, homemade quilts, crib quilts, and layettes to families in need. Call to donate usable items for distribution.
Eligibility: Residents in the service area of Lynden City who are low-income or in need of emergency assistance. Come by for food; call ahead for an appointment for financial assistance.
