Services:
Provides Emergency Shelter services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If a child is in immediate need of a safe place to stay, FCCY can provide short-term placement with a foster family for up to 30 days. During this time period, appropriate plans for future living arrangements will be made by all involved parties, including the child, the county caseworker, the child’s biological/legal family, the FCCY case manager, and the foster family. In many situations, it is suggested that the child be moved from Emergency Shelter placement to our Family-Based Services program.

Services:
Provides HEAP grants that are used to supplement annual energy costs. Funds can only be sent to primary heating supplier and can be used to pay for electricity, propane, natural gas, wood, oil, kerosene, coal and any other heating fuel. Emergency HEAP grants may also be available to eligible households with a shut-off notice or for those running out of fuel such as propane, wood, oil, kerosene or coal.?Also provides assistance with replacement or repair of primary heating source.

Eligibility:
Must meet financial eligibility and residential guidelines. Unless electric is primary heating source, assistance for electric shut off notices is only available, if eligible, through Emergency Benefits.

Documents To Bring:
Must provide birth certificates and SS cards for all members in household, rent receipts - with complete name and address of landlord, property tax bills, proof of mortgage, current utility bills, proof of Income in household for past 4 weeks and proof of all resources - bank accounts, retirement accounts, IRA's, stocks/bonds, CD's, etc.
