Services: Provides counseling and education for those looking to become first time home buyers. Also provides financial capability, mortgage foreclosure, and fair housing counseling and education. Programs are a source of information about ownership, predatory lending, mortgage foreclosure prevention counseling, fair housing, budgeting, handling debt, and credit repair.Periodically, when government funds are available (Federal Emergency Management Agency-FEMA), we provide qualified recipients with financial assistance with either their first month's rent or one month's past due rent, up to $700.00 and rental assistance counseling. In addition, when these funds are available, mortgage payment assistance is available just for principal and interest, not escrow (taxes and insurance).

Services: Housing Retention: a Medicaid funded housing program that works to develop skills that will increase housing stability by providing: crisis intervention, mental health referrals, life skill counseling, conflict resolution, landlord mediation and long term financial support.Housing Placement: A housing specialist is available to assist individuals who are HIV positive with locating safe, secure housing and to provide help to identify funding sources. Emergency Financial Assistance: Funds are available to HIV positive individuals to assist with securing safe housing and prevent eviction or utility termination. Funds for first month's rent, security deposit, past due rent and utility disconnect prevention are limited to one time per eligible individual within a 12 month period.Rental Subsidy: Evergreen Health receives grants that allow us to provide rental assistance on a monthly basis, similar to that offered through Section VIII.Also maintains Evergreen Lofts which are located in the Pratt-Willard neighborhood, at 392 Genesee Street in Buffalo. The historic building has been completely renovated, and has 56 beautiful units.

Member of the WNY Holiday Partnership which provides toys and gifts to low income families for the winter holidays. Neighbor for Neighbor - Provides a onetime grant to help pay heating costs. The maximum grant is $500 for National Fuel Gas accounts. Applicant must live in the National Fuel Gas service area. Applications are accepted for gas. To qualify to submit an application the applicant must be: at least 55 years of age or disabled or have a medical condition that could be worsened by the absence of heating or be receiving unemployment.

Services: Family Assistance: provides temporary financial support to families with children and pregnant women who are without sufficient income to maintain themselves. Temporary Disability Assistance is also available for persons temporarily disabled or needed in the home to care for others. Safety Net: provides vouchers for essential expenses to individuals who have reached their lifetime limit of Family Assistance and children in the care of non-relatives, or for single & childless couples.Temporary Disability Assistance (TDA): provides assistance to persons with temporary disabilities, persons 60 years of age and older, caregivers of those with disabilities, and those with permanent disabilities awaiting SSI benefits.SNAP (Supplemental Needs Assistance Program): Provided to individuals/families in need of assistance purchasing food due to limited income. Mixed Household SNAP benefits are granted to households who have some members who receive temporary assistance and some who do not. Benefits are obtained electronically through the EBT system.Medical Assistance: provides medical coverage to persons without insurance, premium support to persons paying a Medicare premium and coverage for adults whose children receive Child Health Plus.
