Services: The Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program is a federally funded program designed to assist eligible families in renting housing units in the private sector. Program participants pay a rent amount that is based upon a calculation involving household income, contract rent, utility allowances, bedroom size, and payment standards. This results in an approximate rent payment ranging from 30% to 40% of household income. The Housing Authority pays the balance of the rent directly to the property owner. Payments from the Housing Authority are timely and are routinely mailed on the last working day of the month prior to the month in which they are due.

SERVICES: 1) PATIENT SERVICES: Offers assistance for patients and their families who are waiting for a transplant, have just received a transplant, or are receiving kidney dialysis. Provides medical alert identification jewelry upon requestthrough kidney patient's social worker at the patient's treatment facility.Also maintains an information library containingpamphlets and videos on kidney disease research, treatments and nutrition.2) FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Provides assistance for food, medicine, rent and treatment related transportation. Also offers emergency transportation fund for round trip transportation to and from dialysis in emergency situations only.3) COMMUNITY AND PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION: Provides free information on kidney disease and free health screenings for the community.Gives seminars on current developments in kidney research and treatment for health professionals at a nominal cost.Also funds local renal research andeducates the public on the need for organ donors. Call to have an organ donor card mailed to you. 4) DONATIONS: Accepts used vehicles registered with the Motor Vehicle Administration.
