There is currently multi-year wait list for a vacancies. Preference is given to low-income households of two or more, as well as low-income elderly and/or disabled individuals who live and work in Del Mar. The Program is similar to a Section 8 housing program where a portion of the rent is paid on behalf of the families directly to their landlords however, the agency does not accept section 8 vouchers or transfers from other parts of the county.

Services: Provides rent subsidies/vouchers for up to 80 consumers. Applicants are placed on a waiting list and preference is given to extremely-low-income households with at least one family member having an AIDS diagnosis. Medical and income eligibility are verified when applicants are pulled from the waiting list. This program is designed to help individual households, rather than subsidizing particular rental projects. This type of assistance moves with the tenantif the household no longer wishes to rent a particular unit, the household may take its TBRA and move to another rental property.
