Pleasant must go to Frederick or Walkersville. - OVERVIEW: Provides financial assistance, a thrift shop, food pantry to area residents. - - SERVICES: - 1) FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Provides assistance for eviction prevention, utility turn-offs (must be in clients name) and to help pay cost of prescriptions, medical or dental bills. Must have bill or other paperwork as proof of need. Payment is made directly to vendor. No gift cards, gas or hotel accommodations given out. - - 2) FOOD PANTRY: Open every Friday 3:30-4:30PM. Need ID, proof of current address and meet specific food pantry criteria. Walk-ins are welcome. Clients are given a 2-3 day supply of groceries. Formula is sometimes available. - - 3) THRIFT SHOP: Open to public on Monday, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10AM-1PM. Offers bags of clothing for $2. - - 4) DONATIONS: Non-perishable food, gently used clothing, small household goods, and monetary donations welcomed.
