Services: Following a general assessment, our Intake workers allocate appropriate services such as advocacy, referral, and financial assistance, to help fulfill clients’ immediate needs. Our work also serves a secondary function – to help families achieve self-sufficiency in the long run.

Birth Certificates, Bus Tickets, Bus Passes, Rental Assistance, Energy Assistance, Gasoline Cards, Pennsylvania Identification and Prescription Assistance.

Services: The Department of Public Welfare offers an Emergency Shelter Allowance, ESA, to help a homeless or near homeless family/individual to: stop eviction from your home/apartment or foreclosure of your house; find a long-term place to live; find a short-term place to stay.

Services: Program pays rent for chronically homeless individuals to assist them in regaining independence. Serves single homeless people who have either been homeless for one full year or have had four episodes of homelessness in the past three years.

Services: Seeks out minority families with developmental disabilities to help them get services to which they are entitled. Reimbursement for respite services, and computer technology services for persons with developmental disabilities also available. Provides information about respite care (temporary relief for caregivers). May be able to do a Lend-a-Hand referral for rent assistance with proof of income and proof of eviction. Those who receive rent money or cash assistance from Department of Social Services are not eligible.
