Services: Offers food, clothing, sleeping bags, and hygine items to individuals and families in need. Emergency needs are considered and addressed when funding is available. Referrals to other local agencies are also provided. Services: 1) SOUP KITCHEN: Provides warm meals 2 days a week; Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30PM and Saturdays from 5-6:30PM. 2) FOOD PANTRY: Provides food boxes to individuals and families on Wednesdays form 6:30-7:30PM and Saturdays from 5-6:30PM. Individuals and families may make a request one time per month. 3) OTHER NEEDS MET: Provides the following items when available: baby food, formulas, personal hygiene items, detergent, paper products, blankets, and sleeping bags. During the cold months a free coat handout is open to all ages. 4) DONATIONS: May be dropped off at the church, 8 West Second Street Frederick, on Wednesday from 4-9PM and Saturday from 3-9PM. Needed items include: spam, canned beef stew, canned single course dinners, canned pasta, instant potatos, spagetti sauce, boxed macaroni and cheese, breakfast cereal, boxed snacks and desserts, cookies, and crackers, Baby items needed are diapers, wipes, formula, and baby food. Gently used blankets and sleeping bags for the homeless. Monetary donations and grocery gift cards are welcomed. Also distributes the government surplus food commodities program for the county.3) CHRISTMAS ASSISTANCE: Offers Christmas assistance (toys and clothing) to needy families with children through 12 years of age. Services: NOTE: Must be resident of Middletown Valley (Middletown High School feeder schools). - OVERVIEW: Provides financial assistance, free tax preparation, drivers for medical appointments, coordinates holiday assistance, contributes to local school supply drive, exercise classes for 50 and older seniors, and offers information and referrals to other programs as needed. - - SERVICE: - 1) FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Provides emergency financial assistance. - - 2) SCHOOL SUPPLIES: Set's up a school supply driver and collects school supplies in July to be handed out to those children that meet income guidelines in the month of August. - - 3) DRIVERS: Provides drivers for medical appointments. - - 4) EXERCISE PROGRAM: Exercise classes for groups and Seniors ages 50 and older. - - 5) BACKPACK PROGRAM: Provides food for needy children to take home with them over weekends during the school year. Contact your school counselor for details. - - 6) HOLIDAY ASSISTANCE 2017: Coordinates with Salvation Army to provide Christmas Assistance to needy families. Pick up will be December 9th 1-8PM and December 10th 9-11AM. - Applicants must provide ID with proof of address, proof of income, and social security cards for the entire household, proof of bills, and a wish list for each child as well as clothing size. - 5) DONATIONS: Monetary donations are always welcomed as well as nonperishable/perishable food, hygiene items and household products such as dish liquid and paper towels.
