The housing voucher represents the difference between an average monthly rent for a particular area and at least 30% of a family's monthly income. o Rental Allowance Program (RAP): See separate listing: Rental Allowance Program, Charles County. o Maryland Housing Rehabilitation Program (MHRP): Provides loans to low and moderate income families to rehabilitate their dwelling units. o Indoor Plumbing Program (IPP): Designed to provide low-interest, no-interest, or deferred loans for wells, conventional septic or other on-site sewerage systems, indoor pipes and equipment and connections to community water and sewage systems. To be eligible, properties must have no indoor plumbing or have an existing system which is failing but structurally sound. 4) TRANSPORTATION SERVICES-VAN GO: o Provides residents with general purpose transportation on a wheel chair lift equipped vehicle e.g. to shopping and medical centers, human service agencies, senior citizen activities, community centers, and College of Southern Maryland. o Provides complementary ADA para-transit services.o Provides specialized services to persons aged 60 and older, physically handicapped or not Medicaid-eligible. o Provides general and para-transit transportation to College of Southern Maryland, La Plata campus.

Women only - - SERVICES: - 1) TRANSITIONAL HOUSING: Offers the Housing Outreach Mentorship Encouragement (H.O.M.E) program which provides transitional housing and housing subsidy assistance to homeless female Veterans and their children. The program focuses on integrating Veterans back into their local communities and providing vast, safe residential areas to choose from. - - ELIGIBILITY: - - Must have an honorable or general discharge; verified by DD-214. Discharges beyond general will be looked at on a case by case basis. - Requires completion of initial service obligation (ISO), unless medically discharged. - - Must be able to provide proof of homelessness. - - 2) INTEREST-FREE LOAN: Offers the Savings Assessment and Financial Education (S.A.F.E) program which may provide assistance with rent, deposits, and utility assistance when funds are available to all female Veterans and U.S. military reserve component service members via an interest free loan.
