Services: USO of Illinois, Inc. Centers are available for walk-in service for military personnel. Program services include:-- Drop in centers at O'Hare Airport, Midway Airport, Rock Island and Navy Pier that offer a place to relax, refreshments, movies and internet and email; --Illinois AMVETS Emergency Fund to help military families in need;-- USO Troop Entertainment; -- USO Discovery Kids Programs for family of military including cultural and educational entertainment and holiday events; --Support for Homecomings and Deployments; --Community Information --USO Great Lakes has Family Outreach program for local E1-E4 personnel (furniture, diapers, formula, carseats).

Eligibility: Any active duty member of the Armed Forces, National Guard or Reserves and their dependent family members.

Services: Hope House provides temporary shelter for men, women and families Adults are required to work or to be looking for work or have an income provided through Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Social Security The goal of shelter is for clients to live independently, to be employable and get an apartment The average stay is 6-8 weeks with extensions based on case by case basis *Spanish is spoken.
Hours: 24 Hours 7 Days
Eligibility: Open to homeless men, women and families. Special requirements apply to those with mental illnesses, substance abuse issues, and domestic violence concerns. This is not a shelter for those fleeing domestic violence.

Services: The Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry provides food assistance for those in the community who do not get adequate nutrition. Food is available to those eligible once per week. Hours are Monday, Tuesday and Fridays from 11:00 am-2:00 pm. The food pantry office and distribution center is located in the Hesed House building, but is a separate organization. **Spanish is spoken.
