Services: Assists veterans who expaeriencing a financial hardship. Helps to meet a variety of unforeseeable emergency needs. Provides food vouchers in emergency situations. In certain circumstances provides rent payments, utility payments, mortgage payments, prescriptions, and principle car payments. Assists with burial expenses for indigent veterans. Assistance cannot be used for an extended basis and is generally for emergency, one time needs.

Eligibility: Serves veterans with discharge for honorable service or under honorable conditions, and must have been on active duty for other than training purposes. Must be a resident of Lake County for at least 90 days. Funeral assistance is only provided for indigent veterans. Client can receive assistance as often as determined by the agency on a case by case basis.
Documents To Bring: Documentation requirements are extensive and will vary with service sought. They will include at least: DD214 and proof of residency in Lake County for at least 90 days. For burial assistance, must be able to prove need.

Will also provide financial assistance for gasoline, car repair and prescriptions. Amount given varies with each case.

Eligibility: Geauga County residents, but focuses on Chagrin Falls Park residents. For utility assistance must have a disconnection notice. Number of times client can be helped is determined on a case-by-case basis.

Services: Provides temporary emergency financial aid for help with apartment/house/mobile home lot rent payments and rental deposits, utility bill payments, minor car repairs, minor furnace and appliance repair, and prescriptions. Can also provide $25 Giant Eagle food cards. Payments are generally capped at a maximum of $200, although client is not guaranteed to receive maximum amount. Money goes directly to the creditor, not to the client. Does not provide ongoing assistance. Funds are very limited and subject to availability.

Eligibility: This is a program of last resort - applicants must have exhausted all other sources of help. Serves Adults 18 and older; residents of Chagrin Falls Twp., Chagrin Falls Village and Bainbridge Twp. Only serves these cities - can not make exceptions for anybody outside of these areas. Those from Bainbridge Twp. must first try to receive assistance from Geauga County Job and Family Services or United Way Services of Geauga County. Must have an immediate need and be able to show the ability to make future payments, and otherwise demonstrate how this assistance will resolve the situation.

Eligibility: Veterans who are residents of Cuyahoga County living in a single or family household with an income at or below 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI), which for 2011 is the following based on family size: 1 person - $22,000; 2 persons - $25,150; 3 persons - $28,300; 4 persons - $31,400; 5 persons - $33,950; 6 persons - $36,450; 7 persons - $38,950; 8 persons - $41,450; 9 or more inquire for amounts; May have been discharged with anything but a dishonorable discharge.

Eligibility: Serves Portage and Columbiana County residents. Total gross household income must be at or below 200% of Federal Poverty Guidelines. Program can be used one time in a 12-month period. Bill does not have to be in shut-off status but must be past due. Must apply for HEAP first (when available). Must have made "Good Faith" customer payment(s) within past 90 days.
Documents To Bring: Copy of most recent (past due) electric bill. Acceptance or denial of HEAP benefits (when HEAP is available). Current picture I.D., soc.security card, and/or birth certificate for all household members; Proof of total gross household income for last 30 days (pay stubs, Social security checks, etc. and/or recent w-2 forms and/or recent income tax filing with IRS or HEAP documents).

May be used for bulk fuel in cases where the household has less than a ten day supply.
