CCAP's Social Services Department administers the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) for Cranston, Scituate and Foster with federal funding earmarked for the state of Rhode Island. LIHEAP is designed to help low-income clients meet the ever-increasing cost of home energy. Payments are made directly to vendors who then credit the client's account for the amount specified. Parent as Teacher Program (PAT): The Parents as Teachers Program (PAT) is a free home based program that supports parents by teaching them the skills they need to teach their children and enhance their development and also supports families with monthly community activities and family events. Case Management: Adolescent Self-Sufficiency Program assists pregnant and parenting teens to make important decisions and plans that lead to personal and economic self-sufficiency. Services include pregnancy and parenting education; education and job training assistance; referrals to community resources; individual and group counseling and pregnancy prevention workshops. Youth Diversionary Program: Primary goal of this program is to divert youth from the juvenile justice system.
