Services: Administers the Housing Choice Voucher rental housing assistance program, a federally funded program which provides financial assistance to enable eligible persons to lease existing rental units from private property owners at rental rates within the HUD published Fair Market Rents (FMR). Participants pay approximately 30% of their adjusted income towards rent, with the balance paid by the housing authority. Due to limited funds, a waiting list is maintained, with applications accepted only during an open enrollment period.
