Services: Hampshire Township has assistance programs for residents The General Assistance program provides general relief funds for adult Hampshire Township residents, with or without children The program provides assistance as long as a person is eligible The program helps with rent, utilities, food vouchers, and prescriptions. The Senior Program provides for the loan of wheel chairs, crutches, walkers, canes, commodes, and hospital beds to Hampshire and Burlington Township residents. The Senior Program also provides transportation to doctor's appointments and errands, as well as for social and recreational outings for seniors Transportation for the disabled is provided for medical appointments Vehicles include wheelchair lifts.

Services: The Hanover Township's Elgin Office provides Cook County Elgin residents with easy access to township programs and services *The Welfare Department is on site on Mondays to provide access to local, state and federal welfare programs, including LIHEAP. *On Tuesdays a community health nurse provides health screenings and events. *Tuesday and Wednesday evenings Youth and Family Services provides a therapist to see families *Tuesday evening there is tutoring for children *On Wednesday, senior services staff help with social service needs In addition, Senior activities are offered throughout the week *On Fridays the Assessor is in and anyone can walk in to talk about their tax assessment * Food is available on an emergency basis only during the week for Cook County Elgin residents For specific information on all services and to make appointments, please call the departments directly - see Contacts tab for all numbers Also available: voter registration and notary public Spanish is spoken.
