Rockford Meld is an emergency shelter and housing for homeless pregnant or parenting woman under the age of 21 years of age, with a 1 day to 120 day shelter stay. Women are assisted in securing support services and to set goals for the future. The transitional shelter program provides up to 2 years of housing and support. Each woman must make an application and be interviewed for the program. Transitional clients are placed in their own apartments and pay rent. They are also required to participate in Meld groups.
