Daycare, Employment Services, And Counseling Are Provided To Break The Cycle Of Homelessness. Meals Are Provided And All Residents Assist With Daily Chores. Services: San Jose Family Shelter provides temporary shelter and supportive services to homeless families in Santa Clara County to empower the families to move out of homelessness to independent, self-sufficient living in their community. In addition to shelter and meals, the program also provides on-going intensive case management, on-site child care, on-site Head Start, tutoring, computer classes, classes for parnts and children, after school activities, a clothes closet, job readiness shilss, job referrals, housing readiness classes, housing referrals and case management services for the families after they leave the shelter.

Services: The Second Chance Emergency Shelter Is A Multi-purpose Shelter Which Provides 30 Beds For Single Adults And Families. Serves Anyone Not Having An Appropriate Place To Live. There Is No Other Requirement, Although The Program Has A Special Focus On Persons In Recovery From Drug And Alcohol Problems. Basic Stay Is Two Weeks For Singles And Three Weeks For Families. Flexibility Depends On Residents' Particular Situation. Basic Services Include Bed, Three Meals Daily, Laundry, Telephone And Mail Drop. Also Provides Information To Community Resources And Support Services. Subject To Availability, Shelter Provides Limited Access For Non-residents To Shower, Do Laundry And Eat An Evening Meal.
